Very cozy accomodations (in the historic section of the facility). Thoroughly enjoyed the Christmas Eve festivities in the main lobby. Excellent Christmas buffet in the Blue Ridge. Only regret not having time to enjoy the spa; will have to return for a mid-winter spa retreat!

If you like old world charm and the service that comes with it, this is the place to stay. Make sure you stay in the old section. That is the area with the most charm. The spa is amazing. The grounds, breathtaking. Worth whatever they charge.

This is one of the four or five most unique hotels on the east coast. Bartok wrote a symphony here, Fitzgerald a book, and nearly every President and other plenipotentiary of the last almost century has stayed here, and for good reason. It's really a ""must"" at least once in everyone's life...it's the hotel that ""made"" Asheville, as much as Vanderbilt's Biltmore Estate made the area a destination.
