not what was expected...disappointed to say the least.

We stayed at this hotel for 2 nights. Upon arrival, check-in was slow. We waited almost 30 minutes for the lady at the counter to check in another guest before us, only to wait another 20 for her to check us in, despite our reservations. Upon arrival to our room, it had a strange musty odor. We aired the room out and febreezed the whole room ourselves rather than complain, as they were at capacity and had no other room available. The chair and ottoman in the room were REALLY gross and worn. They had many, many stains, and holes in them. i suspect this is where that musty odor was permeating from. The bed was ok, the linens were rather old and worn, and the pillows very lumpy (thank goodness we always bring our own when travelling!) The towels were very thin and very dingy. We asked for different towels at 8:00 am, and ended up having to make do with the cleaner of the towels we had, after waiting more than an hour for clean towels. We arrived back to our room late that night, but did have clean towels hanging in a plastic bag from our room door. The bathroom appeared relatively clean, but the toilet was wobbly and a little leaky. We did not try the complimentary breakfast, as we were meeting family both mornings for breakfast, but from what we were told by other guests, it was not too impressive. Our room was also rather noisy. We were on the end closest to the stairs and heard the conversations of everyone who walked by. We will definately not be staying here again. My mother-in-law had a much cleaner room at a much less expensive hotel a quarter mile down the road.

We stayed 2 nights for business. This place is like new. clean rooms they even smelled new. it is located within walking distance of at least 6 places to eat, 3 of which are not fast food. Easy on and off the highway, however you can see the hotel from the road but no sign at the side street, we had to turn around and go back.The parking lot is well lit and we saw the police drive by several times on patrol. The breakfast is as you would expect simple but adequate. This is a good value for the money, I would have no problems going back.

The room was very clean upon entering it;the breakfast was okay considering my waffle really did not have enough batter to completely fill the grid.The service was excellent and housekeeping was also excellent.The Jameson Inn in Gaffney,S.C. rates an excellent mark.
