I stayed here on business, and was very impressed. The front desk staff was very friendly and helpful. The rooms were impeccable clean, and comfortable. The hotel is in walking distance to the Subway station on Fulton, and just steps from the South Street Seaport. I've stayed in Manhattan hotels that cost 5X per night what the Hampton Inn charged, and this hotel is a hidden gem. If you just want excellent service, and a clean comfortable room to relax in, this is perfect. They also serve a free continental breakfast every morning...If you're looking for more bells and whistles, this would not be a good fit.

This location is a little out of the way - its near the Seaport and almost under the Brooklyn Bridge. You'll have to tell a cab driver that its near the Seaport for them to be able to find it. Realize that when you stay at this hotel, you are 4-5 miles from Broadway and Rockefeller Center - its at least a $*cab ride to that area each way. This is a small hotel - 65 rooms divided over 9 floors. The "free" breakfast area is too small for the hotel, so if you come late (near 10am when it closes), expect a crowd and the food to be just about gone. The rooms are small, but great for the money. The front desk employees are really friendly and helpful. I rarely say this when evaluating a hotel, but the front desk employees made our trip a success over a snowy weekend. Tip #1: The hotel has an arrangement with a parking garage across the street, and parking indoors is only $* night, inluding tax. That makes the hotel even more of a bargain if you are driving to NYC. Tip #2: The A-train subway is only 3 blocks from the hotel and for $*/person each way you can get to Broadway. Tip #3: The hotel is 3 blocks from the walking entrance to the Brooklyn Bridge. Walking over the bridge into Brooklyn and having pizza at Grimaldi's is a great way of spending half a day. Tip #4: The hotel is 4 blocks from Century 21, a designer discount department store, and JR Electronics, a discount electronics store. Both are fun to shop. Overall, this is a good hotel for the money, but if you're in town primarily for the theater, it is a distance away and inconvenient.

The hotel was so much more then we expected. The room was bright & beautiful and had a spectacular view from the 8th floor terrace. The associates at the front desk were very helpful with directions, subway, and bus routes. The continental breakfast was filled with lots of choices for everyone's diet. Stating "the overall hotel expeience met with our standards" would lack the expressive words necessary to describe our stay. The main reason for our visit was to walk across the Brooklyn Bridge and eat at The Bridge Cafe, both of which we accomplished; plus lots more. As a side note: the bed & pillows were exceptionally comfortable and felt like home.
