  This hotel is the best!! If you are looking to stay in the Alexandria, VA area - and don't want to have to pay to park, pay for breakfast, or deal with the traffic hassle - and still have great amenities: Stay Here. The free shuttle to the airport / Old Town Alexandria / or Metro station is fantastic and a real life-saver for a D.C. trip. The staff is courteous, and the shuttle drivers friendly and accommodating. The breakfast was great, featuring hot foods like eggs & sausage as well as the usual items. This was also the only hotel that I could find at a reasonable price that was Free to Park – a very important item for the DC Metro area. The free shuttle operates 24/7 and will drop you off and pick you up from various locations at your request. The Metro station is very close by and makes getting into D.C. efficient and fast. The fitness facility is small, but adequate. The room was clean, the beds extremely comfortable, and even the towels were soft! I highly recommend this hotel!!

  Overall, I enjoyed my stay here very much. The staff was friendly and helpful. The breakfasts were wonderful! The shuttle was incredibly convenient. The hotel itself is decorated very nicely, as are the rooms. I loved having a pool, fitness room, and laundry. I do have a few issues: 1) Getting shuttle pick up at the Metro station. I was attending a conference in DC, and a few evenings it was late by the time I got to the Metro station. Hotel staff had told me that if I called when I was 1 or 2 Metro stops away, they would be there to pick me up when I got to the station. I did this twice, and no one was there, and no one showed up. I had to call again. This felt a bit disconcerting, and while I didn't have any problems while I was waiting at the Metro station for them to come, it seems like it could be a safety issue. 2) We got what was billed as a "suite." While it was a lovely room, it was hardly a suite. I think of a suite as having a separate bedroom. Not the case here. There was the bed, and across the room from the bed, the fold out couch. In between the two was a large square table. When we folded out the couch, you couldn't get around the table! So, for 4 people, it was not a good room layout at all. Not to mention, the mattress on the pull out couch was *very* uncomfortable. Next time I might get two doubles instead. 3) The business center was nice, and very handy, but it seemed that there was no air conditioning in there! It was way too hot!

  Our family recently got back from a vacation to DC. We spent 5 nights at the Hampton Inn in Alexandria(March 21st-March25th) and were very happy with our stay. The hotel was clean, the staff members were friendly, the breakfast was good, and the shuttle service was excellent. It made our trip. It was timely and took us to and from the Metro stop and Old Town.Even though the hotel is somewhat far away from main attractions, they were easily reached because of the shuttle service. We had a great time.

  This was a great place to stay while in DC. It is kind of hard to get to because of the construction. There is an extensive gift shop and the staff is wonderful. There is shuttle service to Metro and Airport. Far from downtown DC, but a good stop.

  Hotel is well located, near major interchanges and easy access to DC. Is currently in middle of road and hotel construction and a little inconvenient. It's a little shabby. Fresh coookies in afternoon are a nice touch.
