We stayed in San Juan overnight before leaving on a cruise. The Hampton Inn is located close to the airport and is not very far from the cruise port. There are taxis available all the time. The Hampton Inn has a very nice pool and there is a great continental breakfast in the am. It is free and there are ever some hot items.There are restaurants located nearby.We ate at Dennys but for a short walk there are all kinds of fast food places. The larger hotels across the street have some very nice restaurants and stores in them. We discovered a very nice beach within walking distance. It is located behind the large hotels and it is a public beach so anyone can use it.

We booked the Hampton Inn in Isla Verde, Puerto Rico for our last night because of it's proximity to the airport. We had been staying with friends, and we decided we wanted a second night at The Hampton Inn. They could not give us the same cheaper rate as we had for the first night, but the second night wasn't expensive either, and they accomodated us to stay in the same room both nights. This hotel is located within walking distance to the beach, all sorts of retaurants, and 5 stars hotels and casinos. So we enjoyed all that for a cheaper, reasonable price. The Hampton Inn was very clean, tranquil and inviting. They offer courtesy breakfast. They have coffee/tea available in the lobby at all times day or night. The lobby, pool, whirlpool, and swim-up bar, the exercise room, computer room, and laundry room were clean and easily accessible to guests. We couldn't single out one particular person, since all the staff at the Hampton Inn was bilingual, friendly, and amaizingly helpful. They even had written step by step directions how to get to different places of interest. Just ask at the front desk. Next time we visit Puerto Rico we'll definitely enjoy a longer stay at the Hampton Inn. To the Hampton Inn, we give thanks for a wonderful experience.

My wife and I were finishing a week-long trip to Puerto Rico and required a hotel near the airport so we could leave early the next morning. We booked the Hampton Inn at a great rate ($*/night) and were very happy with the results. The hotel is very modern, located across the street from many local restaurants and near the famous San Juan Resort, that is apparently the party spot for that side of the island. The rooms were spacious, clean and well maintained. The hallways were wide, clean, and well lit. The rooms were quiet and comfortable. I wish we would have had more time with this property. There is a lot to do within easy walking distance. They charge $* to park, but the lot is gated and well protected. We were leaving as they were setting up breakfast, but it looked like it had all the usual Hampton Inn items. I noticed several flight crews staying at the Hampton. Folks at the lobby counter were friendly and helpful.

Checked in was OK but when we got to our room there was a huge wet spot in the middle of the floor. When we called the desk they wanted to send maintenance to look at it. When I said I would really prefer another room the person on the phone became very cool and unfriendly telling me they had no other rooms available and when I suggested perhaps another type of room I was told that was not possible. They did finally give us a room at the very back of the hotel which was not the type of room we had booked. Breakfast the next morning was gone when we arrived at 8:30. Overall a bad experience. Hotel is also an unpleasant walk from the beach.

The hotel was very nice. Room was clean and comfortable. Pool and bar were well kept. Complimentary breakfast was decent. I only had one complaint and that was that the view from our window was less than desirable.
