My husband and I were just in AZ for a long weekend to see a couple Chicago Cubs Spring Training games. We did the same trip last year and stayed at the sound end of Scottsdale and wanted to try a new hotel. I really liked the Talking Stick Resort. It is a beautiful hotel and once everything is completed, including parking & landscaping it will be great. The rooms were large and had great floor to ceiling windows offered great views. The beds were very comfortable & there was a mini-fridge in the room. The bathroom was large and the rainfall shower head was great. I think this is the first time I actually used the desk area in the hotel room b/c the design worked so well. The layout of the rooms on the floors was great because it made you feel a sense of privacy since there are only 2 doors down a little hallway. We only used the pool once b/c of our schedule but it was very nice and there are 3 pools on the property. The only real negative I had was walking through the smokey casino every day to get to and from our room & parking lot. And I wanted to go to the bar at the top of the hotel but was turned away because of their dress code policy. I get the no hats, shorts, etc...but all I brought were sandals, specifically flip flops that were not allowed. The location was great especially if you are a D'back or A's fan b/c the new ballpark is literally across the street!

Great Hotel/Resort

I was very imopressed with this hotel. I am a frequent traveler for business and pleasure. This is one of my favorite places to stay for a couple of days. Great little bar/seafood place called Ocean!

I stayed one night at the resort and was very excited at first, The rooms were beautiful, and the service was great! The casino was very clean and beautiful as well. I went to my room to retire for the evening, but was woken up several times by the guests in the next room! You could hear toilets flushing, people talking in the halls, needless to say I didn't get much sleep! I complained to management, but all I got was "we'll look into it". Very expensive to stay, and won't be staying again!
