Rooms were big and clean. Staff was nice and courtious. We stayed in a king size bed, it was big enough to sleep 4 (not that you'd want to). Room had microwave, fridge, and coffee pot. Wireless internet was fast enough to watch streaming netflix and hulu. Luggage carts available if you have a lot of stuff. Breakfast was okay, no eggs or meat, but there was biscuits and gravy, waffles, cereal, bagels, and fruit. Very close to I-81, you literally cannot get lost finding this hotel. Just 3-5 minutes away from the downtown bars in Harrisonburg (by car), and as close to JMU campus as any non-student would want to get. This hotel is NOT in a sketchy part of town. You don't feel the need to sprint to the entrance or anything like that. No on-site health center, but the hotel has partnered with Gold's Gym right down the road, and they give you a free pass to use it. Didn't check it out, but I think it's safe to say, if exercising on your trip is important to you, you probably can't beat a full service gym. I highly recommend this hotel.

Stayed here in Feb 2010 and April 2010. Location is perfect for visits to JMU but rooms are very dirty. Clean white socks get dirty just walking across the room. Dead bug on wall. Paint chipped and walls scraped up. Upon complaining to hotel management after Feb visit was told that hotel is used a lot by construction workers and that I was assigned a room typcially used by their M-F contruction workers. Lobby is very nice. Breakfast has bare miniumum offering and is located in basement. After calling management in Feb was to be given a better room in April; which turn out not to be any better. Am cancelling all future reservations. Sorry -- I've tried twice. I'm going to put my family through it again. It's way to dirty for us.

bad choice
12/26/2006Hotel management did not know what they were doing. hotel smelled of smoke everywhere. everything needs updating. i would not recommend or stay there again.
