The price caught my eye -- well below average for the area -- and I carefully read reviews before booking. Seemed promising so I made my reservation. I arrived on an earlier flight than anticipated and the staff was most accommodating in allowing for an early check-in. The shuttle was easily found and the trip to the hotel was quick. Friendly and efficient service at the front desk. My room was in the main building (there is, apparently another unit, "the Compton House"), and on the snowy December afternoon/evening, the fireplace in the main lobby was very welcoming. (A great place, it turned out, for reading and knitting -- and, OK, a bit of people-watching -- while passing time.) The room was nothing fancy, but better than I had expected at the price I paid. The bed was very comfortable; bathroom clean and supplied with basic toiletries and hairdryer. Yes, I could hear voices in the hallway as people walked by, but, at least during my stay, I was not disturbed by ambient noise. Aircraft sounds are VERY muted; I can't say I heard any planes at all from my room. I highly recommend the Highlander; I do hope, however, that it doesn't become too popular and the prices rise disproportionately!

Enjoyed our 1 night stay imensly. Had a beautiful room, very peaceful and clean. Had a great meal in the restaurant with great service. The fireplace in the lobby was especially homey and the smell of wood burning brought me home. The shuttle service was prompt and very helpful as well as the whole staff. Will definitely come again.

After arriving at the front desk at 3:30 a.m. due to the plane's late arrival, I was glad to have this reservation. This hotel had 2 different buildings, the one where I checked in and the newer of the 2 and the one where they put me--which was the original inn. Fortunately, it was clean and comfortable. I was told that there was a Continental breakfast served until 10:00 a.m, however, I was pleased to find it still set out at 10:30 a.m. The coffee and juice were welcome, however the bagels were definitely not from NYC:

I was concluding a 2 week vacation in New England and needed a place near the airport for an early flight out. I hauled my huge bag out of my car and to the front desk, only to find that I was given a room in the "other" building. Had to bring my uggage all the way back to car and reload and drive to other building. My room was on the second floor. No elevator. I'm an athlete, I have no problem climbing stairs. But my luggage, which held 2 weeks worth of clothing, was another issue. There was no one to help. Very tiny staircases and winding hallways. Put me in a bad frame of mind to start. Then when I finally settle in my neighbors show up. Walls are paper thin. I could hear every conversation, tv show, phone call, shower...in several rooms all night long. I am not hard to please. But this was a horrible experience. Horrible!
