We spent spring break in LA with teenage kids. The hotel is in a good location just off 101. Santa Monica, Malibu, Hollywood are all within 30 minutes drive (when not rush hour). Hotel was nice. They do charge $* for parking per day.

This is at least my third stay here in the past 6 years. I have enjoyed it every time. The location is central to the valley and to Hollywood, with shuttle service to Universal CityWalk and the subway stop. The room was clean, comfortable and inviting. The only thing that kept this from an excellent review was the slow drain in the shower/tub. This was probably the slowest drain I have encountered in a hotel but otherwise the experience was excellent.

My family and I just stayed there for three nights during our Spring Break California trip last week. My idea in booking the "Beverly Garland" was that it is the least expensive hotel I can find in the Hollywood area that is very nice. The place totally lived up to my expectations. The hotel itself is immaculate, the staff was very professional, and the free shuttle to Universal (right around the corner) made this the perfect place to stay for us. we did take the Hollywood tour recommended by the bellman and loved it! I found it much easier than trying to navigate LA traffic and parking myself or in a cab. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and we saw places around town (not just downtown Hollywood) that we never would have seen otherwise. The only downside is that unlike most hotels nowadays, there is no free breakfast. They do have a little coffee shop with excellent baked goods that is much more reasonable than the pricey breakfast buffet. You also have to pay for parking, but they give you a few bucks a day off if your a member of the Holiday Inn club.

My family liked the hotel. We like the room: clean and loved the bed. Staff is friendly always will say hello. Liked the location near walk of stars and Universal. You can even take a bus ride to Hollywood for $1.25 instead of driving. If you want to do laundry they only have one washer and dryer in one of there buildings.(only negative.)

We just stayed here for 2 nights and it was perfect. Very clean, everyone was really nice and the shuttle to Universal was great. I had researched hotel for about 10 hours before I picked this one (because it had good reviews) and I was relieved it was as good as the reviews! I would stay there again.
