I chose this hotel because I read online that it is one of the nicer hotels in Charlottesville. If that's true, it doesn't say much for Charlottesville hotels. Our room smelled like it had been the site of one too many off-campus parties, and looked like it had not been renovated since the first Bush administration. I will concede the location is good, and I can't speak to the amenities because I did not use them, but based on the rooms I would not recommend staying here.

The staff was very cordial and the beds slept so comfortable. Even though they don't bother you, there are mountain bugs that like to linger in the draperies and bathrooms. Other than that, it was a nice stay. Very close and centrally located by everything...UVA, malls, eating, gas...

We picked this hotel because of the handy location to sites we wanted to see and stayed 2 nights. The restaurant and lounge were very nice. Food was good. However, the room had a bad odor and desperately needs remodeling. Housekeeping appeared to be a bit lazy. We had to ask for shampoo, coffee cups--things that should have been in the room when we arrived. We would not stay here again even though generally we like this chain.

Our room was not clean. THe carpet is very dirty. I could not walk around bare foot. There was dog waste found behind a chair. We didn't get an adequate response from the front desk when we called down to report this. All she said was "I'm sorry, have a good night". I will never stay at this hotel again.
