Not really remodeled, just cosmetic. Same thin walls and windows, same dingy feel. Horrible breakfast option in hotel restaurant. Use this place as a last choice if you must stay in Chico. Any of the other chain hotels are better, even stay in Oroville if you can.

Although it wasn't a bad experience, this hotel was not up to the standard of Holiday Inns that I've come to appreciate. And, considering I was booking this hotel to make an impression, the only impression we got was that this hotel was a facelift of an old Motel 6. The rooms were nice, and modern. The room thermostat didn't work and the front desk was already aware of this. We had to use the noisey wall unit and the bed was at the other side of the room. The celing in the hallway was very low, dirty and made you feel like you were walking down a tunnel. The feel just didn't have the upscale feel that normally I have enjoyed from other Holiday Inns across the country. If you are looking for a convient, safe, and easy to find place right off the freeway, this would work fine... then again, so would the Motel 6 which is right next door in the same parking lot for half the price.

I stayed Aug 8, 2009 for a business trip and I will not be back. My TV did not work-They came up twice to try to fix it and when they couldn't they said they would write a letter to their manager to get me a discount(Right)! That does not help me now!! I just wanted a to relax in my room. the breakfast was ok--after I realised that they had not gave me a ticket for my breakfast(I had to go back to the front desk or pay $8 to get my breakfast. And then at check out they would not give me a receipt so I could turn it in to my work for reimburserment. As I already said--I will not be back--there are plenty of other hotels in the area.

I stayed at this hotel in August 2009. My room had a loud buzzing noise when I arrived that I eventually tracked down to the refrigerator. I unplugged it and gave a sigh of relief when the noise stopped. Then the air conditioner came on and it sounded like sleeping next to an idling diesel truck. Windows could not be opened, so I had to choose between noise and heat. I reserved a room with the $20 breakfast coupon for the next morning. Breakfast turned out to be a poor excuse for a buffet with old, cold eggs and meat and poorly cooked frozen potatoes. I will not stay here again. For the same price, you can stay at a much nicer, and quieter, hotel. This Holiday Inn is a blight on the otherwise good and reliable chain.
