rooms were very small, could span two-thirds across one way and nearly touch both walls, no joke. i was shocked that they would allow four of us to stay in such small quarters. room was clean and the staff was friendly. door from room leading to hallway has roughly 1/2 inch gap on the sides so it does not seal tightly and allows ALL the noise from the hallway into the rooms, especially when we were directly across from the elevators. room has no regular closets, but is provided with a small 18 inch standup closets which is not enough for 4 people. luggage had to be placed on top of armoire to save space. thermostat did not operate adequately.restroom was small. location is nice in that it is close to major transportation hub and between 7th and 8th ave which lead to most major locations.

NYC is so overpriced for no good reason. This hotel is worth it if you are on a budget and want a clean, centrally located, small room with a friendly hotel staff. There isn't much (if any) security. If I was to do it again, I would want a hotel with larger rooms in a bit of a nicer and cleaner area, but for dirty, old NY, this is not a bad choice.

Checked in, did not have our room with Jacuzzi, gave us a lousy room, with hard bed, worst pillows, very loud room. Used the toilet, there is an earth shattering noise which comes from the water which scared us, then we found out that this is how the toilet works. You can hear conversation in the hallway from the room. Would never stay there again

This hotel deserves its top rating. The rooms were clean, comfrtable, and the staff more than helpful. Above and beyond the top quality was its central location to everything; It is a few blocks away from: US Post office, police precinct station, and Penn Station which is a veritable subway transportation hub. There is another subway entrance less than two blocks away that will take you direct to Battery pary for Liberty and Ellis Islands. I cannot say too much about the friendliness and helpfulness of every member of the hotel staff that we came in contact with.

We did a college visit trip to NY. Location is great, close to subway, restaurants, in the middle of town. Our room was on the 4th floor and quiet. Room was tiny- even for NY standards-, very clean with nice new furniture and bedding. Was ok for us since we didn't spend any time in the room except for sleeping and showering. Luckily the room was only on the 4th floor. Had to walk a couple of times since the two elevators are VERY slow and very busy. Front desk personnel was very friendly. Breakfast room, which is also the front lobby was very busy- hard to find a table to eat breakfast. Was wondering about security. No door man, people off the street can just walk in.
