A heads-up for travelers w/o credit cards; ie, if you only have a debit card: you will be charged $*deposit at check-in! No one tells you this when making reservations! I am a Holiday Inn Priority Club Member and so I always stay at a Holiday Inn whenever I travel. I have never had a credit card and have never had to pay a $* deposit. I thought this hotel was a terrible experience. The reviews are right that it is noisy since it's near the interstate and it is far from the sites. I used the MTS bus service to get around (smoking deal: $*/day gets you almost everywhere) but still needed a taxi to get back to the hotel because of the distance. Thought customer service was tort and rude. My recommendation is to stay at the Holiday Inn near the Bay instead of this one. Much closer to everything! Hotel cafe' workers were super nice and good food too!

The Holiday Inn (HI) was in a great location, Blocks away from the Trolley, and within Walking distance to the water front for shopping, The Gas lamp district for food and nightlife, and the heart of little Italy. The staff went above and beyond what i had expected, and was willing to do everything they could. The Free shuttle was excellent, they will take you anywhere within a 3 Mile radius of the hotel (Witch is all the good stuff). For Food, skip there restaurant, and walk down to the Gas Lamp district or Little Italy and get a good meal for about the same price.

This hotel was great. It was in walking distance of a ton of restaurants which helped save on taxi fair. The hotel's shuttle service was also wonderful. Free shuttle to Sea World and the Zoo. They were also kind enough to bring us to a few restaurants that were within 3 miles when the shuttle wasn't busy!! Very nice of them. The staff was helpful and even help us set up a tour bus to take to the Wild Animal Park. Would stay again!

We stayed here for a few nights in June 2009. The Laundry facility was LOUD! The service was terrible, and one night while we were in our room the door was opened by a complete stranger!! THey gave a key to our room to another patron! Unbelievable!! I will NEVER stay here again and you shouldnt either. This was the only low point on our trip to San Diego.
