Hotel was very nice. Our first room the heater made a horrible noise and made it a very long night. They put us in another room, heater was quieter but didnt work as well. Temperatures were in the 20's and room stayed pretty cold throughout the week. The view is absolutly second to none in all rooms as they are all oceanview. However, if you go in the dead of winter like we did, prepare yourself becasue the sliding doors in the rooms let a lot of cold air into the room, even when completly shut, they leak really bad. I dont know if they aren't double pained or what. Also, do not plan on a hot shower, no matter what time you try, it wont happen. Hotel staff was super friendly, there are fantastic restaruants all down the beach. One was an Italian restaraunt, a little upscale and expensive but 4.8 out of 5 stars. This one was actually in the hotel. The other one was at the other end of the beach called Watermans, I think, It was less expensive and absolutly fantastic, a must go too. If you are bringing familly, the indoor lazy river is really cool for any age. Me and my wife spent every single night, even in the cold weather in the pool/spa area. I thought it was a very nice experiance overall but we were on winter rates. No way I would pay the summer rates, which are 4 times more expensive. I paid * per night, summer rates are around 269 per night. Also, room needs a safe in it for keeping items secure.

We love this hotel, the location is great, rooms have just been remodeled, though it meant that they are no longer dog friendly. We decided to take a leisurely week to kick back and enjoy time right on the ocean. I remember when the housekeeper used to come in, change your sheets and towels everyday, take out the trash, tidy up, clean the coffee pot and provide more coffee and fixings. Seems like there was a switch several years back 'to save the planet' that suggested that you use your towels more than once, and they'd change your sheets every other day now unless you insisted on a daily change. I was okay with that. However, this trip, even the door tag is different. It says "Help Me Tidy Up" and the housekeeper no longer cleans the shower during your visit... at all! You do get new towels to replace ones that are soiled that you put on the floor, and you are 'asked' if you'd like them to make up the bed or just leave it unmade. On the third day, after they did not clean the coffee pot or dump the grinds, I pulled it out and set it on the tray so that they could see that it needed to be cleaned. Nope, it was left. I did clean it every night and use it. I had to ask for coffee and creamer packets twice, they just didn't replace them. I finally checked at the front desk about this and asked whether it was a new policy. She told me that yes, it was indeed new policy but that she'd get someone up to clean the shower. I asked whether the policy was just this hotel or system-wide. She said that it was system wide. I paid $* per night for this hotel, and though we truly enjoy the oceanfront room (we extended our vacation for one night and had to change to a much nicer room but the nightly fee was down to $*) I do not understand this lowering of service. I will recommend this hotel to a friend for the location, but I will make sure they know that the service and cleanliness at Holiday Inn has slipped badly. You can pay the same for a lovely oceanfront room at the Hyatt, the Marriott, the Sheraton and get the service you pay for.

Stayed here about 5 times prior. They renovated and took out one of their indoor pools and added a outdoor splash pool, this in turn eliminated some parking. The other remaining indoor pool is not comforatable to be in, needs ventilation. One thing they can do to the remaining indoor pool would be to have it open to outside with sliding doors, this would ventilate it so it would not be so stuffy in there. Hotel staff very friendly, but when requesting things like lower floor, pool side GOOD LUCK. Hotel was clean. Has a nice location. Resataurants are pretty good, they did replace the indoor pool with a new restaurant, pretty reasonable pricewise.

We had booked this brief vacation / conference in October. Watching the TV saw the great storm approaching the east coast. The hotel was great. We were safe, even on the ground floor. Staff was friendly despite their obvious stress dealing with the noreaster! The room was 10X better than I expected. I wanted to book a suite for the vacation, but unable to do so because it had to be a pet friendly room. But I was surprised, the room was a small suite and everything worked out really well. My vacation was great....despite Mother Nautre and the Noresater of 09.
