After a long 9-hour flight from Rome, staying at The Beacon overnight was a refreshing experience. I know the neighborhood on the Upper West Side, so it was easy to do the necessary grocery shopping before retiring, then up early for coffee at Starbucks. Shopping and browsing, watching the families out for a Saturday experience together, were delightful.
The concierge was terrific. A great personality and she helped without being intrusive. She ordered a car to Newark airport so the taxi rush hour experience would be minimized. It worked beautifully. All in all, I found the hotel friendly, convenient, very well-located --- so much so that a trip to the Metropolitan Museum was easy to navigate. I always enjoy The Beacon, but this was especially good. -

The rooms were spacious and clean, but the A/C was LOUD. Loud enuf to keep you awake. I asked other guests if they had the same problem and it seemded to be pretty universal. Bring your earplugs!

If you're going to a concert at the Beacon Theatre, Hotel Beacon is by far the best place to stay. Kitchenettes mean you can pick up food at Fairway mkt and eat at ""home"".

Nice location; market across street; subway entrance at corner; 1 bedroom suite with mini kitchenette offered extra space not found in typical hotel room for the price of this suite; bathroom small; room interior needed some updating; it had older feel to it, but it was clean; staff was helpful
