Location.The Hotel Centro is set in a Renaissance era building which was a former home to Rafaello. It is located in central Florence's San Lorenzo district, 200 metres from the city's cathedral and five kilometres from the airport.

Hotel Features.The hotel building retains many features of its Renaissance past but is fully modernised. Guests can start the day in the bright breakfast room, and practical amenities include a multilingual concierge, room service and a front desk with a safe deposit box.

Hotel Centro offers guests a complimentary buffet breakfast each morning.

Guestrooms.The hotel has 16 guestrooms spread across two floors, which have simple, light decor with original paintings and cherry wood furnishings. All include televisions, safes and clock radios. Bathrooms are shared for certain room types and all have shower units and hair dryers.

Expert Tip.A symbol of the Renaissance for which the city is famed, the Medici Palace was founded at the behest of one of the period's most prestigious families, from whom the palace takes its name. Although originally an austere structure, the palace shows more lavish touches added through the centuries.
