I made a reservation through Travel agency. When I arrived, I was coolly informed that they had no reservation under my name. The desk clerk didn't even bother to "pretend" to double check her list. No apologies, no empathy, no smile or attempt to resolve the situation. I was already running late and didn't want to run around an find another hotel. FInally, she was able to get me a room at the same rate I thought I'd been promised on Travel agency, but it also came with a $* refundable damage deposit, which I was informed would be refunded "once we have verified that you have not damaged the room." I'm a 32 year old, well-dressed professional, not some homeless person walking in off the street. This was literally the most unfriendly, snobby, holier-than-thou desk staff I've ever encountered, and I've stayed in must nicer hotels and resorts than this. The bed was great and the breakfast very good, but after having to deal with their horrible front desk staff, I would never go back.

A friend and I had tickets to the Peoria Civic Center and thought this would be a good choice since it was so close. We had incredibly comfortable beds and the room was a nice size. The bar "Rendezvous" has an excellent staff and were very welcoming and knowledgeable of drinks. The only downside to this hotel is the "renovation" It is a historic hotel and it is nice but there were many aspects of the hotel that were not "renovated". There was molding missing in the bathroom, there were pipes that were not concealed. I would say they updated not renovated. All in all though, I would recommend this hotel to anyone. It was comfortable and the staff was very friendly.

hotel is beautiful. we stayed there for a cheerleading event and we didn't have any trouble at all. beds are very comfortable . restaurent is had very good food. parking was great. right at the hotel. would be glad to go back again!

From the website, I was really looking forward to a more 'upscale' hotel than what I might normally stay in. And since we were attending a wedding reception, we were looking forward to a little luxury. Not at all impressed with this hotel. All electricity was run off an extension cord, poor lighting, and found candy on the floor of our room. Very old furnishings (and no, not the 'antique' kind) - desperately needed repair or replacing. The only thing that seemed to be up to date were the bed linens. Staff was as nice as expected - no complaints there. A family member of ours mentioned that on their hotel floor, there was vomit in the hallway, and it was still there the next morning when they checked out! If I were to return to the Peoria area, I would definitely NOT stay here again!
