  Typical Parisian small rooms, but comfortable and clean. Located on a small side street off of busy rue Lafayette. We had a room facing the courtyard, so I can't comment on noise in rooms facing the street. Very close to 2 metro stops (both on the same line though). It sounded like the metro line ran underneath the hotel, as all day you can hear trains coming and going. It does eventually go away--at 2am when the metro stops running for the night. Breakfast is overpriced at 7 euros per person, but there are a few excellent patisseries in the neighborhood. Location is decent-between the Opera Garnier and Gare du Nord. Both are within a 20-30 minute walk. They seemed to have some issues with my reservation. They claimed that the rate was underpriced online. At the end of the (prepaid) stay, the person checking me out didn't realize that we had prepaid, and wanted me to pay the full amount. The problem was eventually resolved, but it's not the sort of thing you want to hear as you're headed off to the airport to catch your transatlantic flight. Staff speaks passable English, but inconsistent from person to person.
