Location. The Hotel Örk is located in the geothermal 'health village' of Hveragerdi, Iceland, 40 kilometres from Thingvellir National Park and 45 kilometres from Reykjavik.

Hotel Features. Hotel Örk is a modern country hotel set in a landscaped estate against a backdrop of hills. The hotel has 24 hour front desk with safe deposit box, and wireless Internet access throughout its clean white and wood interiors. Complimentary parking is available on site.

The Hotel Örk's restaurant serves dishes based on local specialities including Icelandic lamb, smoked puffin, lobster and salted cod accompanied by vegetables grown in local geothermal greenhouses. There is a bar with a billiards table. Complimentary breakfast is served to guests.

Guestrooms. The 85 modern guestrooms of Hotel Örk have simple furnishings in creams, greys and wood. All rooms have private bathrooms, minibars, direct dial phones, and satellite television.

Expert Tip. The nearby Golden Circle is comprised of three of the most popular sites in Iceland: Gullfoss waterfall; the immense geysers clustered around Haukadalur; and Thingvellir. The latter is a valley, historical home of the Icelandic parliament, close to Thingvallavatn Lake and the Oxarafoss Waterfall.
