We stayed in the St. Christophe in October 2009. The room was clean but small, which is typical of French hotels. The bathroom/shower was tiny - about what one would expect from a trailer...oops I mean mobile home. Contrary to the previous review, the breakfast is not free; it costs 9 Euros daily. The neighborhhod is working class, residentail. No high end boutiques or the like. Location is within walking distance of Notre Dame, Musee de Cluny, Jardin des Plantes, Sorbonne. The metro is convenient and will get you just about anyplace in Paris within 30-40 minutes. The hotel DOES NOT have a concierge and one should not expect a lot of help booking tours and the like. Overall, we would recommend the hotel to experienced travellers or those on a median budget. We would stay there again.

My fianc? and I stayed here for two nights in mid-April 2009. The location of this hotel is great with several Metro stations within a ten minute walk, the closest of which is about 3/4 of a city block around the corner. There are many charming, great little restaurants lining the paved streets in a district located up one block from the hotel - we ate at a restaurant named 'Jardin du Ivy' the first night we were there, upon suggestion of the hotel staff, and were treated well, and the food was pretty good. We were also able to walk to the Jardin du Plantes and Arlenes de Lutece (ancient Roman ruins) in a very short time from the hotel. The hotel itself had very helpful, friendly and informed staff; all of the front desk attendants spoke English. The room was small (by American standards), but larger than other rooms at other hotels in similar price ranges. The room was clean, as was the bathroom (which seemed to have been recently remodeled with off-white granite) and hot water and great water pressure were both readily available. Take advantage of the free breakfast, which was simple but great (granola, cereal, coffee, hot chocolate, baguettes (of course!)). Easy to get to and from Charles de Gaulle airport via the Metro to this location, if you want to save some of your euros for shopping! We would stay at this hotel again!
