First time at the Hilton Center City, AMAZING!!! The hotel was beautifuly decorated. The colors in the room were earthy and warm. Room service sent up an amminity that was out of this world. The fruit and cheese was fresh and enjoyable. The only drawback was waking up at 8 a.m. to the knock of housekeeping. Other than that, my stay on a scale from 1 to 10 was a 10, absolutly!!! I will make the Hilton my choice hotel when ever I return to Charlotte. I stayed at the Charlotte Westin the very next night, no comparison. Thank you travel agency for the great rate. I will return.

When checking in I did not receive the welcome I have come to expect as I am a regular at Hiltons. No fitness center (as adverstised. In reality you have to pay a fee to use a YMCA which is adjacent). Only one restaurant option which is in a public atrium with a lot of foot traffic (absolutely no atmosphere). Lunch at the venue was nothing short of obnoxious. They serve a low cost, low quality buffet to entice the employees of surrounding office buildings to come in and eat inexpensively. This leaves little attention and service for the hotel guests. I unfortunately had the opportunity to experience an event there as well as I was in town for a wedding at the property. The menu was dated and not well prepared. Service was okay (it was obvious the serving staff tried their best but at the end of the day, they were simply understaffed). The decor of the hall was unattractive with silly mirrors and purple and gold throughout. The guest levels were a bit better. The doors to the guestrooms were comical at best but interior itself was not bad and the bed was comfortable. All in all my expereince was NOT GOOD bordering TERRIBLE. I believe that one of this Hilton's manin challenges is that it's staff desire to be there was as bad as the chance I will ever stay at or recommend this hotel again. Location is good but so is the Westin's (where I happily moved to).

I was hesitant to stay here because of the previous reviews, but my husband and I where just going for a football game and a romantic weekend away from the kids. I would defiantly stay again. Check in was a breeze. We where scared about the parking in the Center of the City so we got a room and parking package (not expensive including tax) and it was great. We drove to the front door I checked since we got the parking package the valet took are car and parked it for us and we walked right into the hotel. The room was very nice, recently updated; beds where very comfortable. It was walking distance to everything. 5-10 min walk to the game, there was a nice restaurant around the corner (romantic). We also got room service and watched a movie in the room - good food, decent price, and good movie selection...would def stay again.

Location was great for walking to football stadium. We thought that the room had not been occupied for several weeks because of the under-the-rim stains in the toilet and the mold on the shower walls...but after giving the maid service a chance, nothing changed except the towels. Obviously no attempt was made to clean those two areas. Even a cursory inspection by the Housekeeping supervisor would have noted these problems. Be aware that there is a charge for internet, per day, and that parking is charged whether you use a valet or not...my husband checked us out so I had no chance to question those details. Upon check-in the woman who helped us seemed a little miffed and took some time finding us a room (we prepaid and specified what we wanted, but room was "selected upon check-in" designated on website). The restaurant/bar was friendly with great food, but noisy...the seating area of the restaurant was closed and food was served in the bar area only.

One of the reasons that we selected this hotel is because it advertises that they are "pet friendly" and that "pets are allowed". What they don't tell you is that, (1) after you valet your car - with your pet in tow, (2) after your check in - with your pet sitting beside you, and (3) after the bell hop brings your luggage to your room - along side of your pet, that the next time that your at the customer service counter, that they have a "pet contract" that they want you to sign and that they've already charged your credit card $* for a "pet fee" that they didn't disclose at check-in. They never tell you this through the original check-in, valet, and luggage transfer - only after the fact! The lady at the counter was very rude and disrespectful and in need of some serious "customer service training". She has clearly lost sight of "who the customer" is and what her "duties and responsibilities" towards the customer are. This was a very challenging experience for me, my family and our dog - is most certainly a part of our family. If you have a pet - DON'T STAY HERE!
