if you have to be in the medical center for any reason this is a great hotel to stay at. we had to go to the childrens hospital which is only a few blocks away, room was nice it even had a mini fridge in the room hidden under the tv they also offer free shuttle service to the hospitals in the area which is very convenient especially if you stay a couple of nights, yes they do offer valet parking which is like $22 a night but that does include in and out priveledges, yes the hotel does have a restaurant on sight if you dont want to eat there then there is a subway and chipotle across the street if not you can drive about a mile down the road and tons of fast food places due to the fact that Rice University is also just down the street.

The Marriott is a hotel-hotel, with a full complement of features--valet parking, restaurant, lounge, room service, fitness center, business center, pool, etc. It's clean and well-maintained. But you can get a bigger room of comparable quality for less money at any of several nearby suites-type places. At the Marriott you're paying for location, facilities, and convenience. If you've had a long day in a hospital waiting room, and you want a valet to park your car ($*), a bartender to mix you a drink, and a waiter to bring you something to eat, then it's worth the money. Caution: In the lounge and restaurant, the menus are appetizing and the staff is gracious, but the food is uninspired, institutional fare. That's not unusual in a hotel, but don't expect much out of the kitchen. Second caution: It's a nice hotel, but it is a three-star place. The amenities, furnishings, and facilities are not what you would find at a Four Seasons or an Intercontinental. Scratchy towels, smallish rooms, ordinary toiletries. It's a good, business-class hotel.

The staff were very courteous and helpful. Rooms were immaculate. The beds were the most comfortable hotel bed that I have ever slept in. It didn't even seem like sleeping in a hotel. Would highly recommend staying in this hotel. It is the most accessible hotel to all hospitals in the medical center. Great location!
