This was a nice stay. The front desk person was friendly. Our room was on the third floor and was ready (they clean the rooms from the top down, some of the lower people had to wait. /we arrived about 4PM.). The room was clean, warm, and ready. It was pretty quiet. The bed was good. The room heater/air conditioner was new and worked well, quiet as these things go. There was a coffee maker in the room which we used and a small refrigerator which we did not use. Hot water was sort of variable. It worked well for me, but went cold for my wife. All that was available was a smoking room, but it didn't smell that bad and we enjoyed the stay. The morning breakfast was about what I expected. Nothing fancy, but ok. All in all it served our purposes very well, and the price was good.

My husband and I stayed at the Howard Johnson Express Inn in Leavenworth recently during an after Thanksgiving getaway. We love Leavenworth, but we will avoid staying at this particular motel in the future. The first night we couldn't seem to get the heater to work. At first we thought it was operator error. We fiddled with it all night. Each time we set the thermostat, the heater would work for about 3 minutes and then it blew cold air. We called in the office staff the next morning. They determined that the heater was broken and brought in a portable one. That solved the temperature problem. It didn't solve the hard, lumpy bed or the foot and car noise problems. If you stay here avoid staying near the stairs and check out the heater right away.

We were on a weekend motorcycle trip with several friends and couldn't book a room in the same hotel so thought we'd try HoJo's. The hotel looks to be built in the late 1970's or early 1980's but is well maintained. The desk staff was pleasant and there's some parking under the building which was excellent for my Harley. The big surprise though was the hotel room itself. It was positively cavernous! Don't get me wrong. It's not the Ritz Carlton but the room was double the size we'd typically see in this price range. Even the bathroom was huge. All in all an excellent place to spend the night. Not a lot of amenities but after all, it's Leavenworth, not New York.

We booked very travel on line as this was a spur of the moment trip, Mark at the front desk went out of his way to get a room and then called to make sure the room was up to our standards. The room itself was nice. It was roomy, had a fireplace, fridge and mirocwave, but the description says there is a restaurant on site which there is not and the hot tub is no longer working. The breakfast was ok but all carbs. No eggs, meat or even yogurt. They do have an elevator for the upper floors and you can bring your dog.
