  I stayed at this hotel for a weekend trip for an event in Hartford. My initial impression of the staff was not good. They had no record of my prepaid reservation, and despite the fact that a room facing the pool was available, they completely disregarded my first request to have this type of room. They were not pleasant, and in fact, were rather rude on more than one occasion. I have stayed in many different hotels over the last several years, and this one was by far the worst. The room appeared to be unclean, and this particular "hotel" was more akin to a motel-not a hotel. It appears that this "hotel" caters more to long-term residents rather than guests, which somewhat explains the staff's hostility and rudeness. I did not feel safe venturing out at night by myself, which is very rare for me (a jaded New Yorker). The breakfast was absolutely horrible; it consisted of a few stale muffins, cereal, and terrible tasting coffee. Despite the fact that I reserved the room way in advance and was able to get a discounted rate, I felt that this room was not worth the price I paid for it. The one good thing about this place is the location; it IS right off of the highway, and there were a few good places to eat within close proximity. The pool was not as bad as others have stated. Other than those two things, I cannot in all honesty recommend this "hotel" to anyone.

  Very convenient right off Interstate 84, Best deal in the area, room was big and well insulated. the people were all very nice who worked there. the pool was nice. there was a balcony on the room with chairs to sit in overlooking the pool which was nice. It had a 24 hour diner right next door and the food was really good there. There was also a brick oven Pizza joint right down the street with excellent pizza. I would definately stay there again.

  The hotel was run down and not very clean. The toilets did not flush properly and kept running all night long. One of the beds had dirty sheets which we discovered at 11 pm when the blanket was pulled down. When we called the front desk, the attendant asked us what did we want him to do? We asked for someone to come change the bedding as the stain was disgusting. He sent 1 sheet. I would not recommend this place to anyone.

  At one time, this was some great motel. Maybe 1950. Mid-century modern building. Large room. It was apparently built with thick walls because the party next door was barely audible and did not keep me awake. The room looked relatively clean. That's about all the nice things I can say about this dowdy place. The toilet kept refilling all night but relatively quietly so that didn't keep me awake. When I reported the problem, the desk clerk did not make note of it and appeared not to care. The restaurant next door, The Vernon Diner, is a hoot -- I didn't expect much but the menu is extensive, the decor is interesting and so was the crowd, and the food inexpensive and plentiful and much better quality than I expected. We ate dinner and breakfast there.
