On checking in, the front desk staff ignored me while phone callers were welcomed. After what seemed like an eternity, the calls ended and I was finally checked in. The room was nice, and although beside the ice machine, was quiet. Any noise came from the pool outside, but it was closed at 10PM. Upon check out, the rude morning staffer insisted on charging my credit card which I used as a deposit (they charge $250.00 if you have the audacity to pay cash). When I pointed out that I had pre-paid with Travel online, he became very abusive, indicated that I was not even entitled to a receipt of any kind, and dismissed me with an curtly muttered "Okay...?". I just walked out. Needless to say, when I got home four days later, I checked my credit card statement and the charge was NOT reversed. I reported this charge to Mastercard as a fraudulent transaction. Rule of thumb: insist on a statement, and check every detail. I'm surprised that a chain hotel would need to pull such stunts.
