The patio doors did not lock properly and the chain for the security lock was on the desk. Paper thin walls - could hear EVERYTHING that was going on next door from 2:30-6:30 am. Restaurant food was horrible.

The place is a dive, had been over a year since I last stayed there and this past week's experience was the same - broken elevator, pool out of order. But now the restaurant doesn't serve Canadian food anymore so you can only use the $10 meal coupons for the Chinese menu. Yeah, like I wanted to eat noodles and chicken balls the entire 7 day stay. And try to find someone to take your order in one of Canada's two official languages! The front desk and housekeeping staff were great for the most par, management doesn't care about the noise and riff-raff room renters and I question how Howard Johnson's allows their name to be attached to this slum.

I've never stayed anywhere quite like this before. It was in a nice location, with some nice quaint little shops along the drive. We had an unlimited supply of liquor and pawnshops right outside our hotel as well as a nice chinese food place that closes quite late. The walk for pizza is just a couple blocks down the road, and there is a cute little restaurant inside, which we never ate it. You get your excerise in while staying here, as the elevator has been broken for a number of years. You also dont get to go for a dip as the pool is broken, however that was probablly for the better. We never had a lock on our patio door... but hey, easy access and our fridge was quite compact. The only complaint I have was the sink hole in the middle of our room, our floor had sunken in. The staff was very friendly and they give great deals! What a good choice!

This hotel had their boiler not working when we arrived. We were not told that we would not have any hot water and we were 7 persons there cound not take shower YAK! Hallway into room very gross. NO pool or sauna working either. Stay away from this place.
