I am sitting in a historic room which has a strange odor ... just like the rest of the hotel. They charged us more per night when we checked in - after a 7 hour drive, we weren't going to argue with them - will try that upon checkout tomorrow. Staff is rude and unhelpful. Sat at the lounge bar for 10 minutes attempting to get a refreshment, and employees just kept walking by. Eventually gave up and went up to the room. Take my advice, stop in to see the historic bar if you are in town but whatever you do, don't stay here!

This hotel is a one in a million experience. If you are looking for a place to stay in Cody or during your Yellowstone visit, stay at the Irma. Food is excellent. The whole experience is refreshing and brings you back to the time of Gunsmoke, Bonanza, or Rawhide. Maybe the most memorial day of my 10 days in Yellowstone area. Only wish my stay had been more than one day.

The Irma Hotel was a delight to look at. the food was great and the atmosphere was very western. On the down side, the check-in staff was relatively distant and un-concerned to have us there. The room next door had a noisy dog and the occupant above us walked around most of the night on the creaky floorboards. The room had a very noisy air conditioner (with no outside air) and there were no outrside windows. Not a pleasant room

Our stay at the Irma was unfortunately too brief. We were just stopping through-- Once we were there I was wishing that we had more time to spend there. Cody seems to be a fun little town. Our room was a good size and the air conditioner worked wonderfully! The down side was having to carry our luggage up stairs. I can't imagine senior citizens doing it.
