As I write this, there is an all night pool party going on with extremely loud music that we did not know about when we booked our room. Couple of drunk guys pounding on our hotel room door. Folks - not a family place at all. This post probably won't be allowed to be posted - but if so, I'd advise going north of this place somewhere

Isla Grande refunded my one night deposit even though I cancelled on the morning of my arrival date. There was major bad weather predicted and I did not want to get stranded in South Padre. They understood and gave me a full refund even though it was against their policy!! I've never stayed at Isla Grand but this will ensure I will stay there next time I go to SP.

We stayed only 1 night and found the accommodations to be exactly what we needed. We only went to hang out on the beach for a day. A short walk to the beach was a real plus. We found the hotel to be clean and well maintained. Biggest disappointment was no coffee maker in the room and you had to walk to the main hotel to a coffee shop where the line was long and only 1 staff member. The front desk did not seem very knowledgable, our key quit working and the front desk made us another key but never asked for ID or verified name, big security risk. All in all we would definately stay there again for the location.

Husband and I stayed with our two sons for one night- Saturday. Only rooms available were with outside entry. The room was not great, was a bit disappointed with the beds not being as comfortable as expected with only two pillows per bed, no extra blankets nor was there coffee in the room. However, compared to the other hotels we considered, this was definitely the best choice.The ammenities were by far the best we experienced at SPI.The walk to the beach is short. We stayed at the Best Western Friday night, the room was much nicer with comfortable beds... however the ammenities were not even close to this hotel.The extra expense was worth it when you are traveling with kids and the ammenities are important. Next time, I will just request extra pillows and blankets.

We stayed 4 nights with our 4yr old son. The rooms were nice and the staff was wonderful! Loved the huge pool and being on the beach. The food on property was actually very good!! Can't wait to go back!
