I am a local Phoenix resident and recently decided to treat my employees to a relaxing pool day at The Intercontinental Montelucia in Paradise Valley. My employees and I ended up having such a perfect day. The hotel itself is absolutely gorgeous, you feel like you're on vacation the second you step foot on resort property... It's the perfect local get away. I worked with The Manager ABC in setting up the event. She was great to work with and made it simple for me to set up everything we wanted. We ended up renting a cabana and doing poolside food and bottle service. On the day of the event ABC was extremely professional and worked closely with me to make sure everything went smoothly. Our server, Courtney, was super friendly and on top of her game all day. I must say, I was really impressed with how the employees at The Montelucia really knew how to treat their guests to a luxury experience. The pool itself was a great scene, not out-of-control like some of the local pools can get in the summer - It was a fun, classy crowd. I will definitely be taking my team back there in the near future for another relaxing pool day get away! Oh, and I forgot to mention... The food was incredible!!! Everything we ate from The Roq was really really good... You don't usually get that when dining poolside but I was very impressed with the food.

What an amazing resort. We decided to use as much of the amenities as we could while there. While it is hot this time of year there was still something to do. The were several options for live music. Friday we enjoyed a live concert and dinner at the Roq. Our group loved the food, service and the entertainment was great. Saturday we went to Prado and enjoyed some tapas and the Spanish guitar players before heading out on the town. There was only one downfall with our trip......it is no fault of the hotel, but the street that it is located on does not have much around it. You will need to make sure you go to the Bellman and ask for car service. They may have a free community shuttle also, but its not like you can walk to a shopping mall. If you enjoy hiking, YOU CAN walk to the huge Camelback Mountain from the resort.

Room was not ready when we checked in at 4:30 PM. Housekeeping never had the room cleaned before 4:00. Asked a maid for more towels, she seemed to not understand english at all. Restaurant and pool service was very good as was the bell desk.

We staye dthere last year and recommended it to EVERYONE. We decided to go back for our anniversary this year since we loved it so much. Well, I was let down this time. The waitress at the restaurant ROQ was rude, and the pool side waitress took 45 minutes to get us our drinks. We ended up going up to the bar just to get our drinks. She was rude too. Since it was our anniversary, we requested champagne and chocolate covered strawberries ( it was actually supposed to be a surprise from my husband) but I soon found out because he had ot call them 4 times asking where it was. They ended up getting it to us by the end of the night. The only great part was that massage and the waiter we had for breakfast on our last day. HE WAS GREAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!
