This resort was great. We were there to celebrate our 30th anniversary and had a great time. It is right next to the beach and the location was great for going all over the island. It was clean and quiet. We really enjoyed the restaurant for breakfast. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The grounds were immaculate. The parking is expensive though and a little far away. Also, the carts they use to move around towels are very noisy on the stone pathways and this usually woke us up early every morning. Would stay there again though.

OMG... wonderful food, room was clean and comfortable. Right on the beach, so we took walks every monrning... practically deserted, it was great! Very close to the airport and shopping, activities. You will need a rental car... reserve "in advance". They were sold out and we had to wait 2 days to get a car. Good trip!

We paid extra for an ocean view, knowing that we didn't want a noisy pool view, and not knowing what a lagoon view might be like. Don't get the lagoon view; it's nothing special. If you want to stay up late, maybe party in the room or be out at the pool late, the pool view is great. The pools are really nice, but small for adults. However, they're great for kids of all ages and families in general. The ocean view is nothing special, but it was VERY quiet, and we were in the building closest to the ocean and heard the waves all night, got our wet things dry on the balcony, and enjoyed privacy from everyone. The room was small, but we weren't in it much. They moved one bed over and fit a roll-away in for my 8 year old. That was worth the extra $* per night. The restaurant is very good and open very early and late so no matter what time zone you're on, they accommodate it. However, for lunch you'll have to go poolside to the bar/grill cabana. My kids swam in the pool, I sipped drinks at a table near the bar. I think it was a good thing. East coast is where this resort is located. I have always stayed on the East coast as it's central--1/2 way on the island to the north and south. The north is often not swimmable because of weather/surf, and the south is swarming with white trash but is the best place to snorkel. You can't swim on the East except at Lydgate Park which is an easy place to try snorkeling. Most helicopter rides leave from the airport on the east coast. Boat/raft rides leave from a variety of locations.

Excellent Hotel
03/05/2011The kauai beach resort was fantastic! the staff was friendly and extremely knowledgeable. the location was good.the grounds were awesome. the only down side was paying $* to park.

We really enjoyed our stay. Rooms were very nice. Pools, spa, grounds all well kept. Not 5 star, but is 4 star as advertised. The staff were 5 star, however. Very friendly, cheerful, helpful. We really appreciated this. 2 nights hotel and 3 days car for $* during high season = very good deal. We would not hesitate to recommend this hotel.
