My husband and I stayed here in Febuary. We arrived at 11 pm, exhausted and just needing a bed to sleep in. The clerk was behind glass and hard to understand. He put us in a room that had no heat on! It was about 10 degrees in the room - the same temperature as outside. I called to complain and he said it was the only room he had. We were so exhausted so we stayed, figuring it would warm up soon. We blasted the heat but it barely warmed the room. We could not sleep - we were in bed with all our clothes and jackets on. In the morning the room was about 50 degrees (after the heat had been on high all night). I complained again at check out and the clerk (same as the night before) told me he knew the heater didn't work when he gave me the room! I couldn't believe it! Also, there were shady people hanging around outside, drinking and partying. I was worried about our car being broken into. The bathroom was disgusting and the room overall was dirty. The ceiling and wall were discolored and water damaged. We have stayed in a lot of cheap hotels but this was BY FAR the worst experience I have ever had!

When I arrived at my room I wanted to turn around & leave. You could tell that the bathroom had not been cleaned in quite a while. There were stains not only on the shower curtain but about every wall in the room. The couch was very stained & I asked the front desk clerk for a sheet to cover it up & extra pillows (hoping to get better ones) & I was told no. Had I not paid in advance I would have left. I ended up going to a local store & purchased cleaning supplies and pillows. I will not be staying at this establishment again. Oh and by the way, they have a pool but they don't plan to open it. I guess you get what you pay for.

First off, the clerk who check us in was not aware I had paid in advance and sought to charge me again at check-in - I engaged in a long argument about how I had paid in advance through travel online but the clerk, who did speak good english repeated asked for my card to pay. The bedsheets were not changed after the first but the bed simply re-made instead of clean sheet. The microwave was also missing from the room and the cable tv was fuzzy (bad picture) took swimming suits but the pool looked as if it will never open.

This is the second time we have chosen to stay at the Knight's Inn. It is a very good deal and we are impressed with the level of care to the grounds and the rooms. Everything in clean and neat, especially the bathroom. A bonus is that we are able to bring our dog. We plan to stay here every time we visit family in Michigan City( about 2-4 times per year.)

We opened the door of our room to an unmade bed and and uncleaned room. The other room still had used washclothes and towels in the bathroom. The rooms do not have alarm clocks, hair dryers, or coffee pots. At least it was quiet.
