Knights Inn Sarasota is a good alternative to the higher priced hotels in the area. The staff was friendly and helpful. The breakfast was basic. We were on business and the rooms were satisfactory,clean and neat.

At night, the "front desk" is a walk-up window on the outside of the building. The rooms are in a separate typical two-story motel building behind the office. The room was clean and comfortable. Ours was a smoking room, and I'm a non-smoker, but while you could notice a smell, it was pretty minor. I've been in much worse non-smoking rooms! The room size was plenty comfortable, as was the bathroom area. The breakfast is pretty spartan, served in the "front deskt" room behind the walk-up window: Juice, coffee, toast, bagels, cereal and fruit. There is a small outdoor pool, but I have no idea if it is usable: I was just there to crash for the night. It's also a quarter-mile away from the airport--an easy walk even with luggage. If you had to spend any time at the hotel, I wouldn't make this my first choice. The outside areas are pretty dreary. But if you're looking for a place to lay your head at the end of the night for as little as possible, but without sacrificing clean, this is the place for you. My ratings below are grading on a bit of a curve: it is an inexpensive motel. You do not expect high-end anything. But for its type of place, it was well above average.

motel staff very cordial. i'm not-so-young woman, was put on second floor to walk steps each time i came and went. stayed 5 nights, room had no frig or microwave, while other rooms did where people were staying 1 night.
have not been able to locate a piece of clothing.needed to run fan all the time to off set street noise. motel great for walking to Ringling Museum my main reason for selecting this one. -

Overall the Inn was average. Customer service was horrible. I believe the only parties I came in contact with were the actual owners. I believe possibly that race played a part due to the fact at the continental breakfast he was very friendly with another customer and responded to my good morning only after I said it 3 times and the other customer first responded. Also I requested a non smoking room and was placed in a smoking room which gave me problems breathing that night. due to the average customer service received at check in I did not bring this to there attention.
