We booked this hotel because of the high ratings. While it did live up to what many people have written about in terms of the recent remodeling, our big problems was probable tiny roaches! On our first night, we accidently turned the fan/air conditioning (?) on, and we later noticed bugs that appeared to be tiny roaches on the ceiling and one later on the bathroom floor -- for a total of 5-6. The second night, we left the fan off and the window cracked open, and no bugs... We also requested the rooms 45/46/55/56 mentioned in other reviews, but they couldn't guarantee it. We ended up getting a 2nd floor room (224?), which had a nice view of the Eiffel Tower when we leaned out the window, but not like the others. The hotel is in a great location, as people mentioned -- a 10-15 minute walk from the Eiffel Tower, 5 minute walk from the Ecole Militaire metro stop, and 7 minutes from Rue Cler which has great places to eat. But, the night we had difficulty sleeping because we were afraid the bugs would fall on us kind of outweighed the positives.

I stayed at this hotel on the tail end of a business trip. The room size is typical for European hotels. It's not the type of hotel room you want to hang out in all day, but it definitely suited my needs for an overnight stay. I stayed in one of the smaller rooms. The bed was surprisingly comfortable. The bathroom was small, but met all my needs. The location was a 10-15 minute walk to the Eiffel Tower and a 15-20 minute walk to the train (with luggage). I felt very safe walking around Paris late at night and returning to the hotel after midnight. There was lots of information in arious languages about things to do in Paris.

This is a great hotel within a 10 minute walk from the Eiffel Tower. Metro was just 2 minutes walk. The rooms were small but clean, tidy and very well furnished. We had a fantastic view of the Eiffel Tower from our room. Breakfast was very good and included cooked food as well as the usual continental choices. The staff were friendly and spoke excellent english. They also appreciated us speaking French. All in all this is a great hotel, one which we will certainly return to and recommend to anyone travelling to paris.
