I stayed at La Quinta Inn & Suites in Tucumcari on my trip with my family and pet, the hotel I usually stay at does not allow pet, so I went next door to the La Quinta. This hotel just recently opened, it is very nice and clean. The hotel had everything, clean comfortable accomodations plus a very friendly staff. This hotel is on the top of my list of places to stay in Tucumcari.

This is a newly opened hotel, and they unfortunately weren't ready! The staff was rude and unknowledgeable, the bedding was brand new out of the box, scratchy and hadn't been washed yet, and when asked about other options they lied and told us Route 66 was a bad part of town! Route 66 is actualy where its all at in Tucumcari and where the La Quinta is located is where the bad part of town is! You can find much better deals at some of the motels on Route 66 there, some even far superior quality than a brand new modern new build hotel, and that's where most of the eat in dining options are for the entire town... Check them out before you leap, you might actually find a much better motel at a far better price right on Route 66, where they still give you good old fashioned service and some even have better accomidations!
