Great area. Restaurants (expensive and inexpensive), Walgreens, couple of souvenier shops and beach within 5 minute walk. Free jazz concert on last Sunday night of month near beach. We don't do night life but assume there was some of that as well. (Taxi to airport was just as expensive as from Old San Juan, though. ~$*) Spacious enough room that was plenty clean. (Wish it was King size bed instead of Queen.) Flat screen, small work table and chair, side chair. A/C worked fine. No tub but we like a shower anyway. Pools small but secluded and clean with lounge chairs. Rooms ending in "02" get street traffic noise. We had *. Didn't wake us up, but heard it if already awake. Probably only draw back was staff did not seem interested in allowing us to check in early or check out late. They were friendly beyond that. Beach fronts Atlantic and water looked fairly rough to swim in (although some were) but pretty to look at. Some were kite boarding. Didn't look like any place to snorkel. There were lounge chairs but I assume you would have to rent from the hotels that had them.

What we liked: hotel is well designed and functional. Pool area is nice (but pool water is not) and rooms are bigger than expected. Free wifi is a plus. What we did not like: room cleaning was subpar, and the room was very humid and a little moldy.

This is a hotel for the budget minded. It is handy to everything, a 3 block walk to the ocean and less to local restaurants and stores. It is very clean but was a little musty. I don't know if this is because it is near the ocean or because of the humidity of the islands. The staff mopped the tile hallways and floors everyday. The staff was very friendly and helped me find things to do in the area. I walk a lot. Nothing fancy here. Go here if you want to use your money to do things and to eat at more restaurants rather than spending your money on a room. I was a single guy visitor and I just wanted a clean room with a comfortable bed. I tried to be in the room only to sleep and to shower. The room is not a big part of my vacation experience other than being close to the things I want to do. It was perfect for me but if you are a trying to impress a lady, spend the bucks for an ocean front hotel. You most likely have other activities in mind.

Very clean hotel and in a good location, El Condado. The only bad thing is that since 2 hours after we checked in there was no water and we didnt have water until the next morning. After we got the water, heater wasnt working and the toilet wasnt flushing. They did not give us any money back due to the inconvenience, I was at least waiting to get 50% back.

This is a little jewel !! New, clean, clean, clean,comfy, friendly, accommodating, but a block from the water. It is not the ""destination"" hotel but is perfect for a few days to see San Juan, since the price CANNOT be beaten. Walk a block to the La Concha and have lunch on the magnificent blue water. Our downstairs room had a sunny enclosed patio. Nice small pool area in rear. Don't know about parking. Continental breakfast at a coffee shop down the street is included--excellent coffee.
