The Hotel Les Jardin du Marais is on a quiet side-street, parallel to the Blvd. Beaumarchais in Marais. The hotel at night is very quiet, contributing to a good night's sleep. We had a short stay in Paris, just three nights, so we were on the go and didn't have time to avail ourselves of the hotel's dining room. It was just a 10 minute walk to the Bastille stop of the Metro, and we enjoyed the cafes in the Marais area, for breakfast and for supper.

This is a very weak 4 star hotel. When we checked in, the room they sent us to was still occupied. It was early, so they asked us to come back in few hours. We were happy to do so, understanding that mistakes happen. But when we came back and were getting settled into our room, another guest walked right in. They had just been assigned to our room also. The desk was hardly apologetic. The manager couldn't be bothered to come and speak to me - even though I waited in the loby for nearly half an hour! This is a great location, but we were very uncomfortable with the lack of security.

The hotel was a great choice. The location is perfect with the bakery, restaurants, Metro station (direct line to the Ecole Militare from which you have a great view of the Eiffel Tower!) Bastille and the modern opera house, and Notre Dame only one mile away. Like other visitors stated before, the breakfast is a little too expensive in the hotel and utilizing the kitchonette, the bakery and supermarket down the street saves a lot of money. However, the restaurant and bar of the hotel has good prices and the food is great. The staff on the front desk is incredible helpful ? don?t forget to make reservations to the Eiffel Tower restaurant! The rooms were small for US standards but normal for European standards and clean. I agree that the cobble stone courtyard looks great but is a little noise. Ask for a room in the upper floors and the front buildings ? that should keep the noise to a minimum. We would stay here again.

its location is very convenient, whether you want to take a walk in the nearby Marais, or need to take the subway (literally one minute away), it was very easy. the hotel staff was pleasant, helpful and knowledgeable. the lobby is nice, if a bit flashy.
but the room was very small, with a funky chemical odor persisting even with the window open all day. the elevator worked intermittently, and the noise level at night was sometimes rather high. most rooms face an interior cobblestone courtyard, and some guests come back late at night having maybe drank a bit too much.
overall, a decent hotel, with ambitions not realized. the rates start at ?*, which is just ridiculous. i would not have stayed one night at that price. i didn't try the ?20 breakfast, but you can grab a coffee and croissant in one of the corner bars for about $3. -

the hotel is conveniently located between Republique and Bastille, two main metro stations. Depending on the building your room is in, you may have very different experience. We were in the Eiffel building, at the end of the hallway, window on the courtyard, great room. Elevator was out of order but it was fine.
