  This year there was no band/dinner/open bar in ballroom as in past 3 years. DJ/music awful and started late, all people crammed in Wharf bar area, not enough room allocated to dance and/or sit, meals severely understaffed. Dinner Steak and soup was excellent but lobster tail was dry, no drawn butter, sauteed spinach overcooked. Will look for better New Years package elsewhere for December 2010. Too bad because the beds are wonderfully comfy and the staff we met were very nice.

  Don't waste your money here for New Years Eve. There was not enough room for dancing or sitting after dinner and the music provided by a DJ who was just fair didn't start until after 10p.m. We had hoped for more after friends told us of their experience with a band in the ballroom last year. I'm sure this would be fine for other occasions just not as we experienced it for New Years.

  We were staying here because of its proximity to the Navy base which is only 20 min. away. Highly recomend to anyone going to the base, alot nicer than other options nearby. Excellent location and facilities. Nice grounds and trail if you want to get away and just stroll. There are alot of nearby choices to dine, shop and find entertainment. Very nice neighborhood and a short drive up the road is Libertyville, nice town, Lake Michigan and parks very close. The on site restaurants and bar were nice. Great pool and weight room. Staff were great. The beds were very comfortable, felt great. We did not attend a play but they always seemed to draw alot of people. We would definitely stay again if not staying downtown. Very nice staff.
