this used to be our favorite place to stay in Durango. We have stayed as a couple and with friends a number of times. we had not visited for about 5 years. this property is terrible. the beds were uncomfortable and old, the wall paper was peeling off the wall, there was a dirty toilet plunger in our bathroom, hairs in the bathtub in our friends room. choices for coffee in the morning nonexistent to limited, Breakfast was only available from a breakfast bar with limited choices. just generally a bomb. the hours on the restaurant were very short and service understaffed. As we checked in a gentleman was yelling at the manager and i heard another such incident in our brief stay. The redeeming feature, if you can tolerate it, is a truly spectacular location. the views etc. are beautiful. This lovely property deserves better upkeep and management.

This mid 1800's preserved gem was the highlight of my stay in Colorado. The hotel was tops in my book and gorgeous. The concierge and help staff were first rate all the way. It is directly in town and within walking distance of many amenities. It is pricey but worth it. Try a meal at the Mahogany Grille and you will be equally delighted.

I have enjoyably stayed at Tamarron for ski vacations about ten times in the last twenty years. The new renovations and the addition of X as restaurant chef made for an excellent vacation. The roons are large at 435 square feet. The skiing at Durango Mountain Resort was the best ever. The large indoor/outdoor pool is one of best hotel pools I have used. However, I do miss the excellent breakfast buffets that were offered in prior years. The other area of criticism is the housekeeping staff. Often the room was not cleaned by 4 pm and repeated requests for housekeeping services were required. The draws in the furniture were not clean. During previous stays I had no complaints with service or room cleanliness. The quality, beauty and value of this property will definitely make me return.

When we arrived there was no one to help with our luggage. The room was old and the tolet leaked and would not flush. The water in the kitchenette would barely run and the sink was cloged. The maid service was horrible, did not make the beds but one time in our 4 day stay. Did not bring coffee packs of towels or washrags for us to use. Had to call each day for everything we needed. The sofa bed was so bad we had to rent another room for the 3rd couple to sleep on. Their room was much better than ours was. I guess it was because they got their room when they got there, and was not in the packaged deal. I will never stay there again.
