We stayed at the top room with the Parthenon view, “private balcony” mmmmmmm, yes, but the breakfast area is right next to it, obviously there are others with better view and cheaper in the area. Great location! And close to everything, clean hotel and nice staff. Watch out for the 4 days cancellation policy. The church’s bells a bit disturbing in the middle of the night. Breakfast was great, fantastic fresh orange juice (squeeze yourself with machine). We were there beginning of November 2010.

Let me start with the only positive quality - great location! Perfect for shopping and within walking distance of the Plaka, Syntagma Square, Acropolis, museums and most everything you want to see in Athens. Also, the room had a small balcony that overlooked the square in front of the Athens Cathedral. Unfortunately, the negatives outweigh even the good location. Once you get past the elegant stairway and entry, the condition of the hotel turns quite shabby. Very gloomy dark stairway, rooms with soiled rugs and extremly uncomfortable mattresses that I would compare to a sleeping bag on the floor. The first night of our stay we were placed in a middle room on the 2nd floor with a bathroom barely big enough to stand in and a shower so tiny that I had to turn sideways to get in the door and I am not a large person, 145 pounds! After complaining about the quality of the room we were moved to a slightly larger corner room but not much improved. The room my children stayed in was on the 3rd floor and was even worse - very depressing decor, uncomfortable bed and and a horrible sewer smell coming from the shower drain. For a 4 star hotel, the comfort and decor was definitely lacking. The pictures on their website are deceptive - note that they don't post a picture of their bathrooms - now I know why! I would definitely not stay there again!!

Beautiful locale and rooms. We had an excellent view of the Plaka and the Acropolis from our balcony. Our room had hardwood floors, a dressing table, comfortable bed, fluffy robes, armoire, and a beautiful hand-painted ceiling. Every morning, there was a breakfast buffet in the third floor garden patio, which was very handy given the Greek custom of having only coffee for breakfast. The staff was very friendly.
