  The Arthur Frommer in Amsterdam is a very nice place to stay. The hotel staff was highly professional and knew everything before I even asked about it. The hotel is within easy walking distance (or Tram) of everything I needed and close to many of the "must see" tourist sites. My complaint is that the room was listed online for $*, which immediately caught my attention, only to find out it was the old "bait and switch." It's quite a stretch to believe all the $* rooms were unavailable and that they only had $* rooms left... Right! Plus, winter time is slow and I made the reservation 6 weeks ahead. Maybe I should direct this obvious trick to Travel Website. Also, the breakfast "only" cafe located in the basement was a real bust. Mainly cold cuts, cheese, and dry cereal... nothing hot but the coffee. Not my idea of a hot breakfast to help offset the chilly weather outside.
