Upon check-in for a two night stay, I was assigned what was described as a no-smoking single. Immediately upon entering the room, I was greeted by a powerful citrus odor. After setting up my computer and checking my e-mail, I noticed a dull headache beginning to form from the odor. On my way to the desk to ask for another room, I saw the cleaning people, and asked what that oder was. They were quick to explain that the odor must have come from the people occupying the room before me (perhaps to mask the fact they were smoking), because the motel cleaning agents were odorless and hypo-alergenic. The front desk person assigned me another room- which also had a peculiar odor. This odor was different and less intense- like a Jamaican cab deoderant. I gave up at that point and accepted the room. The floor in the bathroom felt sticky- so I wiped a towel around with my shoe. The underside of the towel turned black, but not black enough to keep from seeing hairs (not mine) sticking to the towel. My shower was quick, because the tub wouldn't drain. My window was screwed shut (bad neighborhood?), so couldn't be opened to admit fresh air. I awoke in the morning with a headache and stuffy nose. That did it- no second night in that room for me. The front desk clerk was courteous, but couldn't find another room. After asking for, and reluctantly receiving a $* reduction in my room rate, I checked out a day early and moved to the adjacent Motel 6. I never in my life thought a Motel 6 would be better than a Microtel, but it sure was. Microtel lost me as a future customer with this stay.

Just got home with the kids, and my stay couldnt have been more plesent. Exelent staff, spotless rooms and halls, the kids loved the pool and the covered patio had clean propain gas grills.. saved a fortune on restaurants!!!

We found this hotel to be a very good value. The room was very nice and clean. The staff was very helpful. The breakfast was very adequate. We found the location, staff, price, security, and facilities to be very pleasant. I would stay here again without reservation! We were very pleased and impressed!
