At the last minute we got tickets to a concert in the Hattiesburg area, so we wanted an inexpensive hotel room. The Microtel rooms are smaller than your average hotel room but they really make great use of the space! The bed was comfortable, the free breakfast was good, and the wi-fi worked great too. Walking distance to Gander Mountain and Olive Garden are also pluses. Would definately stay here again!

My recent stay took a turn for the worse the morning after a 16 hour flight from Japan and a 2 hour drive from New Orleans and 15 minuets of getting the heat in the room to work. My wife and I admittedly over slept 30 minuets (check out time being 12 noon) We quickly got dressed and made it to the front desk about 12:47. There I was informed we were to be charged a $35 late checkout fee. After asking to speak to the manager, I was told I was checking out an hour late (which it was actually 45 minuets after waiting for the desk person to come, not one hour) and the usual charge is one nights stay. I have stayed in hundreds of hotels being a Veteran/ current Gov job and I know this is the standard hotel policy . The only problem I have with this is there was no call to my room asking if we were leaving, no maid service knock at the door until 12:35. In other words (no grace period). So if you are even a few minuets past check out,"" according to management"" expect to pay an additional fee, at least. The sad part is my wife and I had stayed at this hotel before and decided to stay again because it has nice rooms but now we know customer service leaves much to be desired. We also had planned to stay a few more times during our vacation week. Needless to say this hotels rush to collect $35 will force us to look at newer accommodations across the street.

The room was nice, although small, but since we were staying for only one night on the way to Louisiana, that was okay. The problem was that the walls were pretty thin and our next door neighbor stayed on her phone several hours and talked very loud! It was hard to go to sleep.
