Well, staying at the Monte Carlo got us off to an inauspicious beginning. Paid for a King-sized bed room with a Strip View and when we checked in were told there were only rooms with two double beds and no strip view available. But perhaps the next night, we'd have a king bed and a strip view. On top of it, when we got to our room, the maid was finishing up, so we had to wait. Getting Internet access proved to be a 45-minute affair, but at least they credited back one day of the resort fee. The place was nice enough, though a sunflower seed shell and a burn mark on the rug made me wonder about overall cleanliness and its really being a non-smoking room. The location was great--food court convenient, and staff nice enough to deal with. Really annoying was the pool's closing at 6:00 p.m. Not sure if I'd stay again, only because I'd want to try a new place.

Check-in was easy. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Room was clean and comfortable. The quotsmellquot another reviewer talked about is not an odor at all it is just a scented aroma they use probably in the carpets when vaccuming. Was our first time to Las Vegas and we were not disappointed. The Monte Carlo is a good calm place to stay. Other hotels we walked through while there were very crowded.

We stayed 3 nights, Feb 27th- Mar 2nd 2011. When we arrived the check in area was spacious and not cluttered. We went with another couple and we requested to our check-in lady if it was possible for our room to be close to theirs, and they arranged that right away. However, we booked a king size bed, and got 2 queens, but we didn't feel like going through the hassel of complaining. The bathroom was small, but okay, nothing special. The towels had a funny odor to them, which almost smelled like a tanning bed, which we were told that in advance from a friend who stayed there a year ago, so must be their detergent? We booked a strip-view room, which basically all we saw was the MGM grand, a little deceiveing especially for 1st time goers who were't sure how the hotel was posiioned on the strip. "The Pub" in the hotel was great- spent time there twice. Drinks in the theater were outragous, but thats expected. Great location on the strip- not all the crazy traffic like there is in the middle but plenty going on. Great service for help getting cabs, or if we had questions, or when we needed the to hold our bags after we checked in before we went to the airport.The pools looked awesome, but it was too cold for swimming. The room overall was clean I THOUGHT, until our last night I noticed DRIED VOMIT on my side of the bed towards the wall!! I was disgusted by that! I would stay here again because the service was great and great location but I was a little leery after seeing dried puke next to our bed. BESIDES that...I enjoyed my stay and loved the location on the strip.

I had the pleasure to get a trip in Vegas and stayed at the Monte Carlo and it was GREAT- not just the trip but the Hotel!! Smelled fresh-even w/all the smoking that is allowed everywhere. The hotel was on it!!! Nice room service and lots of fun at the casino. I would reccomend this hotel for a friend or family member who wants to have a wonderful time with great staff and atmosphere for any age! LOVED IT!!!
