I had a two night stay 3-16-11 thru 3-18-11, upgraded to a one bedroom suite when I arrived. Hotel staff were all very friendly and helpful. Convenient location, you can walk to train stations and subways easily. Breakfast was great, fresh NYC bagels and fresh fruit, can't beat it! Loved the shower and the Italian bath amenities. European feel throughout the hotel. Cool black orchids in the lobby. Great stay at a great price, will be back!

Do not let the 4 stars fool you!

My wife and I were extremely disappointed when we arrived and saw the condition of the room and the overall appearance of the hotel. The room is very small. The bathroom is even smaller. We understand that it is a room in Manahattan and in terms of price it is not bad compared to the $*+ you might pay per night at other hotels in the city. However; the walls are extremly thin. When housekeeping is knocking on your neighbors door; you think they are knocking on yours. The mini bar is an absolute joke. The bed is extremely small. They do have a free continental breakfast which was nice. We sent our feedback to Morgans on their survey. The survey was actually read and responded to. Their is a North Eastern arrogance with this hotel and their employees. If you love New York and think that it is the greatest city ever; then you might enjoy staying in a 2 star hotel that thinks they are 4 stars.

We really enjoyed our stay in this hotel. The room was quirky (bathtub and washbasin separated only by a half wall from the bedroom) but large and elegant, built under the steep pitched roof over the 19th floor. It was like living in a tower, with small windows at knee height offering a view over the top of the city. The bed was huge and comfortable, linens fresh and of excellent quality, and all the amenities of a 4 star hotel. We were greeted by name at the door (at midnight!) by the doorman, who also gave us a great recommendation for a place to eat (at 12.30 am). Coffee and newspapers in the morning. Great location midtown. We'll be back.

This is one of my favorite hotels in New York, the lobby is stunning. Service is top notch and the neighborhood is, in my opinion, the best location in Manhattan. It's close to everything but not still away from the chaos.
