I just returned from the Downtown Marriott this past weekend with my husband. We were there to celebrate his b-day. We have no complaints about this hotel. We LOVED it! We took a cab from LGA airport and it took about 20-25 minutes and it was 45 after tip. Check in was easy. I am a Marriott rewards member so on arrival we got a little voucher that allowed us to get a free appetizer from the hotel restaurant. Our king room was on the 24th floor and it was beautiful. The room was very clean and quite spacious for the two of us. I know some people dont like that the location is downtown but we thought it was perfect. its about a 5 minute walk to ground zero 10 minutes walk to the Staten Island Ferry #40which is free and you get great views of the Statute of Liberty#41 5 minute walk to Wall Street. As far as getting to Times Square Central Park Madison Square Garden Empire State Building etc there is a subway about a 3-5 minute walk from the hotel and its SO easy to use. Just follow the map and you will get where you need to go in no time. Trust me! If you need additional help getting around you can ask anyone around you. The New Yorkers were very helpful with directions. No reason to stay in Uptown/Midtown because this hotel location is seriously not far from anywhere not to mention half the price of other hotels near tourist attractions. We had to check out by 11am on the 15th but we were able to leave our bags with guest services and came back later to claim them with no issues. We ate dinner at the hotel great food!

This hotel was great; my family took a trip to the BIG Apple to show the kids. Somewhat on the small side but that's to be expected, clean rooms, friendly staff, pretty good location especially to south street sea port, wall street, battery park and the 9/11 museum. Plenty of little grocery stores and deli are nearby and great restaurant in the hotel starbucks too. Even though it is not the closest to Times Square I would definitely stay there again.

We stayed at this hotel from July 22, 2010 thru July 26, 2010 and had a great stay. It is walking distance from Battery Park and the Hudson River. We felt very comfortable and safe. The staff was very nice and the room was great. The room had a mini fridge, hair dryer and very nice comfortable bed. I highly recommend this hotel for the location and prices. Will stay there again when I go back to New York. Thanks! A long way from home in Louisiana

The hotel is very nice: spacious rooms, comfortable beds, superior service. The location is great if you need quick access to the financial district or World Trade Center site, but a good distance from shopping and sightseeing venues. Subway within two blocks, which made getting around pretty easy. Restaurant had a wonderful breakfast bar, although it was quite expensive! The concierge was very friendly and helpful with directions and restaurant reservations.

This hotel far outweighed my expectations! It was hands down the best hotel experience I have ever had in New York City! The staff was very friendly and helpful, the hotel was beautiful, the rooms were nice sized and clean, the food was good and the rates are quite reasonable. When I booked the trip, I was nervous about the location (downtown, away from all the exciting New York action), but after my experience, that did not matter to me, everything was just a cab or subway ride away. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the city, you will not be disappointed.
