My wife and I spent the night at the Novotel with our 8 year old daughter. The staff was terrific, the lobby was cool and the room was clean (we stayed on the 32nd floor). The view was great and the terrace area was really neat! Nothing bad to say about this place. I

I stayed at the Novotel in Jan. 2010. The room was huge by NYC standards! Very comfortable bed, great views and so close to everything in Times Square! If you are able to get a rate that includes breakfast, grab it! The breakfast was fantastic! As a single woman traveling on business, I felt very safe at this hotel. The staff was always pleasant. I will definitely stay here on my next trip to the city!!

The pictures of the lobby and bar shown here are accurate - lovely and modern. Once we went to our room, however, it was shabby. There were water stains on the ceiling, drab furnishings, and the closet and bathroom doors had been painted over numerous times and were peeling. Maybe they are in the middle of renovating and hadn't gotten to this floor yet. Also we could never get anything to come out of the HVAC system except heat. Had to finally just turn it off. On the plus side, you're at Times Square and can walk to a Broadway play and numerous other things. Also, the staff was very pleasant and helpful. We ate in the restaurant where the food was delish and you can see the lights of the city. A strange thing is that although you enter through a revolving door on the ground floor, you take an elevator up to the 7th floor to the lobby. If you are interested in location and helpful staff, this hotel's for you. If you want a nice room, well maybe they'll renovate.

From the kind greeting I received from the bellmen upon walking in to Novotel, to the helpful daily tips I received from the Front Desk and Concierge staff, I truly enjoyed my experience at Novotel. My family and I were new to New York, and very overwhelmed by the city itself, but the staff at Novotel was so helpful in planning our daily excursions. Our room was attended to dutifully by the housekeeping staff (which always makes for a nice return from a long day sightseeing), and the lounge provided a lovely place to relax and have a glass of wine while looking over the bustling city. The breakfast buffet was amazing! Lots of good food to choose from (even for picky eaters like my sister). We ate our other meals at restaurants out of the hotel mainly, but if the other meals were like breakfast, you are in for a treat! The decorations in the room were very quaint, with beautiful photographs of the NYC skyline lining the walls of the halls and rooms. I would highly recommend Novotel to any of my friends traveling through to New York. I even noticed that upon checking in, one guest couldn't speak English very well, but the Front Desk made every attempt to communicate effectively with this guest to solve their problems. (A true sign of hospitality!) I hope to come back to Novotel very soon!!! I can't imagine staying in another hotel in New York.

We arrived at the hotel before the check-in time, but they had a baggage room where we could leave our luggage and enjoy our day. The room had a fantastic view of Times Square, only the restaurant and outside seating area had a better view. We just wished we realized how close we were to the Rockefeller Center Subway Stations. They are closer than the Times Square ones. would stay here again!
