If you want a clean hotel, this isn't it
08/09/2009No cleaning done overnight, replacement towels stacked on bed, coffee not replaced. hotel was crowded, surprisingly, and there was not enough parking , some guests had to park off site

We left in the morning with a few laughs and some pretty funny stories. We had a room with a view, great except for the street noise that lasted until the Public transportattion bus stopped running that PM / AM. An unpainted plywood board was tacked up on the wall to hold a cockeyed mounted coat rack. Bathroom door was a thin accordian pull across and the shower head in the bath did a great job of cleaning your belly button. Neither the heating or air worked. The closed /locked door was great for passive air conditioing and nightlight. It did have a clean bed. Across the street was a bus stop and a local park that extended out to the lighthouse and dock...a nice walk! Oh, yes there was also a complimentary newspaper, dated 3 weeks prior left on the TV for us.

I had higher expectations for the front street inn, but was disappointed in to find a dirty overpriced room. I was told that I had already made a reservation, so there was no way that I could get my money back. Also check your bill, because if you reserve online, they hit you for a swven dollar processing fee...Did not really feel as though my things were safe, as there were numerous ""characters"" sitting outside on the benches smoking. Overall the worst place that I stayed in on my trip down the coast and through the redwoods.

This is a cute place where the front desk staff was very helpful. There was hair in tub, the toilet paper roll was empty, sheets had cigarette burns on them. My husband and I left a $5 tip the first morning to hopefully encourage our housekeeper to do a better job, but she didn't vacuum, didn't throw the empty soda cans away, didn't change the sheets, and didn't clean the tub. She basically made the bed with the obvious burns in the sheets and emptied the garbage. Not impressed.
