My name is Rick and I stayed here for a week by myself in July of 2010. I couldnt have dreamt of a better place to go to! It was Heaven on Earth! Everything from the staff that initially greeted and made me feel that this was absolutly my new home for my duration to the peaceful surroundings of the resort and island itself to the glorious sunsets I was truly blessed with every night! Bar none . . . it was thee Best Vacation Ive ever had!!!

My family of 3 (one 5 year old) visited Maui as part of our Hawaiian holiday. The Outrigger Napili Shores proved to be an excellent choice. We arrived later than we had planned and had been upgraded from oceanview to oceanfront. The room was nice for a studio layout. The bed was a queen with a pull out twin from the couch. The room was very clean, and though an older property, the rooms were remodeled, especially noticable in bath and kitchen. Kitchen was well stocked for our needs, and we do use a kitchen for most meals on our vacations, so a condo-sort of property was necessary. One of the highlights of staying here was the oceanfront that they gave us. Each morning, the whales would visit the waters between here and Molokai. So while eating our breakfast, we were looking for spouts. One whale splashed his tail at least 25 times. Also, sea turtles were present in the tide pools just down from our room. The location to the beach was great, too. It was just a short stroll to the beach and our son loved the area. He didn't want to leave! The sand was extremely soft and very plentiful, and the Napili area was much more secluded that the Kaanapali area might be. I prefer low-rise and lots of trees. This property had this, as well as the other few properties that neighbored us...low-key feel. We did eat at the Gazebo restaurant one day and tried the fried rice and macadamia nut pancakes that they are known for. Reasonable pricing and lots of food. Pool wasn't heated so was chilly, but ok for refreshment after the beach. Definately would return and this is a solid "4" accommodation.

This hotel is AWESOME!!!!!!! We would stay here again, and again. After reading the reviews (we had already booked) we were nervous abut the noise of the recycling and the kids, we were surprised to see that it was very quiet (we were in a partial ocen view room right next to the recycle)! We loved waking up to the birds chirping! Loved the towel exchange and the staff could not have been more friendly, treated us as ohona (family). The scheduled room service was every three days (including towels)... but when we checked in they asked if we had any special requests and we requested that our towels be changed every day, they did change the towels every day (we were happy they listened)! Beach towels are available upon request at the front desk and were exchanged when ever we wanted. Loved both pools (suggest the heated)! Loved the Gazebo try macadamia nut pancakes and fried rice! Room had EVERYTHING!!!! Loved the library in the room as well as the free safe! One of the many highlights of this trip were the sea turtles every day by the rocks in front of the hotel (go at 4:00 p.m.)!!! Try shuffle board, so fun!!!!!! One of the most amazing beaches on maui! The sand was perfect as well as the water. It's the windier part of the island but that just made a nice afternoon! Our only complaint was the bed (one person in our party had a bad back)... worth suffering through! We have been to Maui 4 times(stayed at different hotels each time) this hotel is our favorite, it is layed back and relaxed! Not everybody followed the no smoking rule. We could go on and on about how great it was... see for yourself! 300 word rule!

Garden view rooms are VERY NOISY!!! The parking lot is literally eight feet from you pillow and you will be woken each morning at 7:00 am or earlier by patrons of the Gazebo restaurant which is on site and has no dedicated parking. This made our trip a bit miserable.... cars, alarms and chatter do not mix with a non airconditioned room!!!! Plus, housekeeping is offered every third day... after I complained I was told I could have received housekeeping daily if only I had asked. I did ask upon check in and every third day is what we experienced. Not a great value for the price charged.

We were upgraded to an oceanview unit (Building H 162). We were very happy with the service, the facilites and would stay again. We found the premises generally peaceful (there were families with kids and it was a full weekend). There is a line throughout the morning for the Gazebo restaurant, but even though our unit was closeby it was not disturbing to us. There is great dining within a 5 minute drive (Roy's in Kahana Marketplace, Merriman's just around Napili Bay toward Kapalua). It was a bit windy while we were there, but we did some snorkeling in Napili Bay and saw lots of whales and sea turtles. The front desk gives you beach towels that are replaced on request. Also, we stayed 4 nights and housekeeping stopped in after 2 nights to tidy up. Kitchen adequate, only used for breakfast. I would recommend this place and highly recommend Napili - much more laid back than Kaanapali, but that is a personal preference.
