This hotel was clean. The service staff slow to respond to guests needs. Great location on the beach. This hotel has half of it renovated to newer rooms. We were in the Older section, though.

Hotel is ok at best. Had to be moved upon arrival due to must and mold in room. Once moved, the other room was "ok", no frills but clean. The beach is very nice and is actually nicer than most more expensive hotels. The concierges were not well informed and the desk help were not helpful at all At times they acted as if we were bothering them with any questions and were quite rude. The safe in room needed fixed and we were told to wait in our room for the maintenance person (seems that there is only one for entire hotel) to come to repair by one desk clerk. We DID NOT travel to Aruba to sit in our room ! and we walked away disgusted. Another desk clerk later told us she would take care of it, and then it was corrected. We were not impressed at all and will not go back.

My wife and I met another couple for a warm weather vacation on March 9,2010. It was are first trip to Aruba and the weather was as promised, hot and breezy. With a bit of encouragement, the front desk accommodated us with adjacent rooms. We stayed in a one-bedroom suite which had a full kitchen and two baths, one with a jacuzzi tub. The hotel had recently completed remodeling and the rooms were attractive and clean. The workmanship was not top notch, though. All the flaws were minor such as the shower doors not sealing properly and allowing water to leak onto the floor. The Divi Phoenix is at the end of the Palm Beach hotel stretch and provided a relaxing location. This also made it slightly more inconvenient to get to most restaurants and shopping; it was a 15 to 20 minute walk or a short bus ride. The room had a nice view of the pools and the Caribbean. The breakfast buffet at the hotel was decent for $11, as all food in Aruba is expensive. The hotel staff was competant but not overwhelming. The Divi Phoenix was affordable and I would recommend it to others.

This is actually a time share condo resort. All the rooms I saw (5 total) have been totally neglected for years. Only the "public areas" were nice, although they too had problems. Rusted appliances, doors that won't close or lock! Closet & doors to cabinets were sprung, or broken. Holes in the lamp shades & blankets! Everyone we spoke to reported plumbing problems and water leaks in their rooms as well. NO ONE was happy with thier room! People had lists' of complaints everytime we went through the lobby, which also had a leaking water sculpture. The elevators, phones & internet were only working half the time.. There was missing & broken tiles on the front entry walk. Our Shower door was two inches too short so water ran out into the floor. Tub was missing a seal around the bottom. Bathroom door was not only missing paint but pieces of the door. Of course then we had to put up with the phone calls wanting us to come listen to a sales pitch. Jackhammers were going for two days. Check-in had problems & manager did not care. We requested & paid extra for a Ocean front room. ($2133) The first room had a view of the roof of the resaurant & pool, no ocean! They refused to move us, stating they didn't sell the view. (website sure does) We moved on day two after looking at 3 other rooms that were as bad/worse than our current room. Then on day four they informed us we needed to move again because they needed our room. As a final assult they tried to charge us an additional $* for our one week stay! We had already paid $*. After 30min I just left them to sort it out. STAY SOMEWHERE ELSE!!!!
