I stayed at this hotel for 3 days and had a good trip. They were undergoing some renovations so some areas were in better condition than others. Overall the hotel was nice. The room was comfortable, amenities were there and I didn't have to ask for them. It was quiet, and if you don't have a car Denny's is across the street. I enjoyed my stay at the hotel. I just didn't like having to pay more for a shuttle to get to the hotel. I guess I shouldn't complain because a cab would have been close to $*.

I'm not sure what hotel chain originally built this, but it's more of a conference center, with large gathering areas and meeting rooms. The pool area is VERY nice, with a very large indoor section (and a closed-for-winter outdoor section). Has a jacuzzi and sauna as well. The rooms are starting to show their age, but all in all very nice. Firm but comfortable beds. Tiny bathroom. Big problem for me was that the room heater/cooler could not be controlled very well and the room was either hot or cold with it on, so had to leave it off (and I like white noise when I sleep). Our friends' room had the same problem. I don't believe there is an elevator in the building, which is 2-story. Easy freeway access, and a convenience store next door, but otherwise this is a place to stay only if you have a car to get around. Overall a very safe location. The room was cleaned very well while we were there. Very nice feature is that the breakfast area, open to the lobby, has coffee, hot chocolate and juices available all day. Breakfast was the standard fare, with the addition of some hot food. My biggest complaint, and one that might keep me from staying again in winter, is that the public areas were quite cold. The temperature outdoors was only in the 20's, and I'm sure it's hard to heat this large building, but it made swimming downright unpleasant. The kids didn't seem to notice, but I was freezing while sitting and watching them swim (had no desire to join them!). Maybe we will try this place again in warmer weather!

I booked the La Quinta Inn in Fort Collins specifically because the listing on Travel website indicated a fitness center was available. There is no fitness center available at the Fort Collins La Quinta Inn. Otherwise, the hotel was OK. Nothing special, but it was OK.
